Workplace Description

We are now looking for a senior technical specialist to take on and manage several expanded assignments within the travel and identity document area. We work with both physical and electronic identity documents, the equipment for these, and the integration between systems and hardware. Our systems must be available year-round for all citizens of Sweden, which places high demands on security, performance, and durability.

Within the section's assignments, there is also a large effort underway to develop a web-based processing client to replace the existing client for managing the entire application process for travel documents. It is therefore important that you have a genuine interest in technology and extensive experience in software development. Job Description

As a technical specialist, you will be at the technical center of events related to the control and issuance of our travel and identity documents. This involves daily work with documentation, case management systems, clients, equipment, biometrics, documents, certificate solutions, and exchanging certificates with other countries to guarantee authenticity and to conduct other checks.

The team consists of developers, testers, requirements analysts, project leaders, and senior expertise in specifications and standards for the area.

In addition to monitoring the related technology area, collaboration in European and international forums may also be relevant.

Qualifications

This is an opportunity for you who have:

  • Education in IT, preferably computer engineering or equivalent acquired experience that the Police Authority assesses as equivalent
  • Experience working in IT operations, development, and/or technical management
  • Practical experience in handling and configuring systems and peripheral equipment
  • Good knowledge of Swedish
  • Swedish citizenship

It is advantageous if you also have:

  • experience with systems related to identity services
  • experience in certificate management, import, export, certificate chains, and lifecycle management
  • experience with technical equipment, e.g., card readers, sensors, terminals, or other specialized hardware
  • experience working with HSM, secure elements, or other hardware-based key storage
  • experience in translating technical documentation and standards
  • experience in international collaboration or technical dependencies on external parties
